At 8:48 pm on New Year's Eve, SOS received an alarm that a passenger car drove into a tree on road 603 between Ruggstorp and Bäckebo in Nybro municipality. According to the emergency services, the car drove off the road and into a large pine that was broken. - The car started to burn and the person who was driving managed to get out and lay in the ditch when we arrived. The person has been driven by ambulance to the hospital in Kalmar, unclear with what damages, says Per Persson at the emergency services. The car was completely burned out and the traffic stopped in both directions for about 45 minutes. The road is now again open to traffic.
